About Me
Luis Porras is a decorated, 30-year veteran of the Minneapolis Police Department. He started his career in Law Enforcement in 1992 in the patrol division. He was then transferred to the Major Narcotics Unit, where he worked closely with state and Federal Agencies while working undercover.
In 2007, Luis transferred to the Homicide Unit. As a homicide detective, Luis worked on numerous high-profile homicides, work place violence, and mass shooting cases.

Luis has earned Excellence in Investigation awards, Medals of Commendation for Investigation and the Investigator of the Year award for the Minneapolis Police Department.
In April of 2023, Luis retired from the Minneapolis Police Department. He now serves as a Private Detective (MN License #2357, insured and bonded). His clients include fortune 500 businesses, professional sports leagues and entertainment luminaries.
Luis has contributed to such television shows as A&E’s The First 48 and See No Evil on the Investigation Discovery network.
Luis is bilingual (English/Spanish) and has deep experience working with people across a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
